Welcome to the Deerstalking Fair 2017

The Official Website

The Deerstalking Fair will run over the weekend of 29th and 30th of April, 2016 at the Black Isle Showground, Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands.

The organisers are keen to ensure the fair has a long life, so each year try to introduce something new for the visitors, and the line-up for this event is looking good so far.

There will be exhibitors displaying rifles, optics, clothing, footwear, general stalking equipment, custom rifles, reloading equipment, deer dog equipment and so on, but we have also expanded on the demonstrations and seminars.

The last fair saw a cookery demonstration being held, which proved very popular, so we have expanded on that to include sausage and burger making demonstrations, as well as the butchery of a deer carcass. This seminar will be presented by experts in the field, so if you want to learn more about preparing what we harvest, then this is a must see event. The CIC will hold a short seminar on roebuck trophy scoring, to highlight some of the recent changes in the system and highlight what you should look for in a trophy.

And the dog tracking experts, the United Kingdom Scenthound Association (UKSHA), will again be present, but this year as well as a seminar, will be doing a live tracking demonstration in the grounds of the venue (weather permitting). This will be a demonstration to show the importance of a handler and dog working as a team, shot site inspection and what to look for on the track of a lost or wounded beast.

Viking Arms are sponsoring the event and fantastic prizes can be won each day by visitors.

As promised previously, only exhibitors and products related to deerstalking or of interest to stalkers will be at the fair. Admission is £10 for adults with children under 16 free. Parking is also free.
